KnitMesh Technologies supplies mesh for the world’s biggest free flight aviary

KnitMesh Technologies, the specialist knitted wire design, development, and manufacturing company, has supplied knitted mesh for a 2.3 hectare aviary in South Africa.

Contracted by Mesh Concepts cc, of Cape Town South Africa, KnitMesh Technologies has supplied 2 metre wide mesh in lengths of 50m. The mesh, manufactured from stainless steel wire 0.35mm in diameter, will be supported on a series of masts varying in height from 2m to 34m.

Peter Evans, KnitMesh Technologies’ General Manager, said “We are delighted to be associated with the World’s largest free flight aviary. This type of mesh is more normally used for security and anti-vandal applications and this is a novel application”.
